Common Variety is a daytime cafe + market in Montague, MA. We focus on local, seasonal cooking and feature baked goods, breads, sandwiches, salads, soups and some prepared foods.

LINE COOK
This is a savory production and line cook position that works as part of the counter service team focused on making all breakfast and lunch items from our made to order menu, as well as some items for our grab and go refrigerator to be served at our quick service cafe. This is a great position for someone who enjoys repetitive tasks and working both independently as well as with a team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Executing all prep for the savory line
- Producing all items from our savory made to order menu with consistency and high attention to detail
- Follow recipes and check for quality
- Replenish items for the grab and go fridge
- Assembling catering, pickup + special event orders
- Breaking down seasonal produce
- Receiving, checking + putting away orders
- Maintaining a clean work environment with daily cleaning tasks
- Occasionally required to serve guests by delivering their orders and clearing dishes
REQUIREMENTS
- Strong attention to detail in regards to savory cooking
- Driven to provide an exceptional, high-quality product
- Follows directions carefully
- Willing to learn + take ownership of mistakes
- Extremely communicative
- Hardworking + committed to being part of a team
- Maintains organization + cleanliness of kitchen department according to DOH guidelines
- A flexible, adaptable + positive attitude
SCHEDULE
Full-time
Scheduling flexibility is required, including weekends + some holidays.
Compensation
Starting $18.00/hour depending on experience + tips
